Well what happens is that Fat, Protein, and Carbs are your main source of energy now what happens is your body burns Carbs or sugar because it doesnt require oxygen to be broken down… so it burns quicker talk about lazy lol so if you go low on carbs then in the full day you will run out of sugar and your body will need another source of energy which is fat…now if you do this you will being to feel short breath because your body needs more oxygen to burn fat since is harder to brake down…..

Lol well it’s true i Just usually stay with a 500 calorie diet limit usually eat less though and do increasing workout…you never explained why they slow down there weight lost pretty much what happens is that the more you loose weight the less calories you burn since thus you dont require as much no more….. bleh our bodies our complicated so i just stick to true low carb diet but i also stick to low calorie diet your right most dont work cuz peeps have week minds but it works wonders for me.

lol yes carbs are vital. people have been trying to find out shortcuts to weightloss forever. and don’t get me wrong some of them work, look at the results from the atkins diets, huge results. but you have to be on that atkins diet for the rest of your life. And is it healthy to avoid sugar and carbs for the rest of your life.. nope it’s not. Really in the end a healthy way to get rid of weight is to eat less of healthy foods and yeah start burning it off.

part of the problem is they ate twice a day. metabolic rate would really slow down.

I’m confused about the “high fat” part. And aren’t carbs vital? How would reducing carb intake help?

Ha, thanks. Wasn’t really thinking there.. 6, 9, you know? Point remains, though, that low fat diets are usually low cal.

i did a 1500cal diet for HIT training book by Ellington Darden. i was angry and depressed for the 1st month(of 5). i lost 33lbs and gained back 10lbs(from drinking beer). i’m a carboholic, which is going to change by Monday because i’ve eaten all of them in my house and i’m not doing any grains for quite a while.

if you add exorcise with a low calorie diet your metabolism will remain at a moderate/high level. plus there would be muscle gained (which leads to the higher metabolism)

This idea that starvation diets don’t work. Is because people who try it, do it for like 7 – 14 days and quit. They might loss 3 – 4 kg’s. which is mostly water, as soon as they eat normally, the water comes back! The reality is the first 2 days of dieting on low calorie diet you will loss about 2kg! of water, the next day, you looking at about 0.2 of kg’s per day, its a slow process. First week you might loss 3.0Kg’s, second week 1.5Kg and so on!. Thats about 12 pounds in a month!

Another good way to speed up metabolism while your starving, is to eat double the amount of calories every 5 days. Take Vitamins. It works anyway. If you loss 10 kilo’s starting, and you go back to eating like crap. You metabolism will speed up, with in a week, your sill 8kg’s under!

I also believe you need to keep the Carbs down, maybe 33% fats 33% protein 33%. Protein suppressor’s appetite and keeps blood level stable. If you eat too much carbs, it triggers fat storage instead.

I believe low fat diets are just a waste of time. But low calorie diets are the quickest way of weight loss. It’s true the metabolism does slow down, and the food stays longer in the stomach as it try’s to absorb more energy from the food. The Stomach gets smaller. You can exercise, to speed up the metabolism.

Anybody who takes all of this for truth should really watch the video response posted above before they make up their mind.

The Fat is not The problem(Trans Fat is ).

The Problem is the Carbohydrates(Sugar)

GRAINS,Wheat and Milk(Sugar) Are the main problem.

Cut them out of the diet and you will see Tremendous Change.

And dont Drink anything apart from Water AND DONT EAT PROCESSED FOODS

1 gram of fat equals 6 calories. If you cut, say 20-25 grams of fat a day, you’re losing a whole 150 calories right there. Some McDonalds has 25 grams in 1 food item. Imagine this real-scale, with some fat person trying to go for the knockout punch. They’re going to cut anywhere from 30-50 grams of fat (remember, they were eating more fat than you or me before this) and to, as I said, go for the knockout punch, they’re most likely going to cut their calories, too.

It is true lack of appropriate food will cause problems that you mention. It is true that some foods are good and some are bad. Weight loss is still up in the air, but noone can debate garbage in garbage out, and calories in and calories out. Statistics and studies can be misleading. Based on how you write it and the questions and criteria you generate you can alter the results. If you tell them to cut calories with no standards, they might starve themselves and not eat uniform. = bad experiment
