I didn’t know they were cooperating… seems sort of unlikely on the totally separate genres….

The 1st song I heard was Teen Spirit . But what REALLY got me into Nirvana was Rape Me . Nevermind was great, mostly because it was radio-friendly . Yet I still love the raw, real stuff from Nirvana .

nah man im not saying your a fake fan im just simply saying i hate the people who only ever heard smells like and all their most famous songs and say they love nirvana

I wouldn’t have termed myself a “fake fan” just because I first got into Nirvana through Nevermind. We all have to start somewhere. The “fake fans” are the ones who don’t delve further into Nirvana’s catalogue beyond Nevermind. I wasn’t one of those types. I like some of Bleach’s rawness that you don’t get with the slickly produced (by Andy Wallace, I think?) Nevermind, but In Utero is my fave Nirvana album. ‘Milk It’ and ‘Radio-Friendly Unit Shifter’ are stormers&Heart Shaped box is beautiful.

My first introduction to Nirvana was via the songs from the Nevermind album, namely Come As You Are and Smells Like Teen Spirit; but I had also been vaguely aware of The Man Who Sold The World. A friend lent me their copy of Nevermind (which I fell in love with), but, in actual fact, the first album of theirs I bought was MTV Unplugged In NY.

ok, i will grant you that the first rage album was good, and the first white zombie album was good, but they were just a couple of bright specs in an otherwise bleak musical decade.
in fact, apart from the naughties the 90’s were the worst decade for music in my lifetime, in my opinion.
also check out demolition 23 from around 1994. they only released one album, but it was the best album of the decade, i think.
