Sort of…
But with emphasis on looking for other human or other colonies. The credits are just more like the background of the story.
I thought this might be a good idea, for has not man always wondered if maybe there were others like him out there? This sequel might sort of be an exploration of that idea – and of how the first primitive civilizations came to be – loosely speaking.

I have an idea for a sequel, in its preliminary stages. WALL-E and EVE are sent by Captain O’Brea to see if any other living things exist, especially any humans.
It would take place around the time their colony would be established and relatively liveable. With robot help, maybe they could grow decent crops, and children play around the tree from the boot.
The outside world is still dusty and polluted, and the seas are filled with sludge and oil.
